Regina Pronina – My Story
People often ask how I ended up running a beauty salon when I started with medical studies. The answer is simple – I’ve always been fascinated by how skin works and heals.
During my time at St. Petersburg State University studying medicine, I found myself drawn more and more to dermatology courses. While other students focused on different specializations, I couldn’t stop learning about skin health, cellular regeneration, and how different treatments affect skin at the molecular level.

After graduation, specializing in cosmetology felt like the natural next step. About seven years ago, I moved to Cyprus and started building my practice here.
Starting a business in a new country takes time to build trust. The Russian-speaking community in Limassol became my foundation, but over the years our client base expanded to include English-speaking and Greek-speaking clients as well. Each community brought different perspectives on skincare, which helped me grow as a practitioner.
I’ve been working with GIGI cosmetics for more than 6 years now. What drew me to GIGI initially was that it’s medical-grade cosmetics – products developed with the same scientific approach I learned during my medical training. Their formulations are based on research and clinical testing, not just marketing promises, which is why they consistently deliver real results.
When you have a medical background, you can’t help but look at ingredients and understand how they actually work on skin. GIGI’s approach aligned perfectly with my scientific mindset, and that’s why I became their official distributor in Cyprus.

Growing the Team
For the first few years, it was mostly just me handling everything. But as the client base grew, I realized I needed help to maintain the quality of service everyone deserved.
Alina joined us first in the end of 2023 as a certified cosmetologist. She has great attention to detail and brings fresh perspectives to treatment approaches, especially with problem skin cases. Sometimes clients connect better with her style, which is perfect – different practitioners suit different people.
Then Svetlana came on board few months later to handle our massage treatments. She brought years of experience and quickly developed her own following of regular clients. Having someone dedicated to massage therapy allowed me to focus more on facial treatments and skincare.
Our team expanded further with Natalia, who handles administration and assists with daily operations, keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes. We also have Svetlana (our second Svetlana!) who manages our social media and marketing, helping us connect with our community online.
Now we work well together as a team. Everyone has their strengths, and we cover for each other during busy periods or when someone needs time off.
GIGI Products & Training
Becoming the official GIGI distributor in Cyprus was a natural progression after working with their products for so many years. It means we can offer authentic products at proper prices, and I can provide training to other beauty professionals who want to learn these techniques.
The product line covers most skin concerns we encounter. From basic skincare maintenance to advanced treatment protocols, having access to the full range makes our work more effective.
We run training courses based on demand, usually covering GIGI product applications and techniques I’ve developed over the years. It’s rewarding to share knowledge with other professionals in the industry.
Languages & Community
We serve clients in Russian, English, and can communicate with Greek-speaking clients too. Limassol’s diverse population means being able to discuss treatments clearly in different languages. It makes consultations more thorough when everyone understands exactly what we’re discussing and what to expect.

Our Space
We’re located in Limassol with three treatment rooms and a comfortable reception area. The space evolved as we grew – we’ve made improvements over time to create the right atmosphere for relaxation and privacy during treatments.
